Welcome to the cooperation network INNODAEMM -
Development and application of high performance insulation materials
The aim of the cooperation network is the development of innovative high-performance insulating materials (for example vacuum-insulated panels) as well as applications in the context of a consortium of innovative scientific and economic network partners.
The need for the development of innovative high-performance insulating materials arises from increasing demands z. B. statutory requirements such as the EnEV. For the achievement of the national and international climate protection goals (for example the Paris Climate Agreement, the Ecodesign Directive and the Climate Action Plan 2050) as well as increasing user requirements regarding energy-efficient insulation solutions to increase the product and system energy balance (low heat loss, low energy consumption) in different areas of application (construction, industry , Logistics, etc.). These increasing demands are not attainable by conventional insulating materials (mineral wool, PUR foam, EPS, etc.) due to the high thermal conductivity and the resulting high insulation thickness for the achievement of the prescribed or necessary limits and therefore require the use of high-performance insulation materials with significantly lower Heat conduction (VIP, airgel, etc.).
The use of these high-insulating materials is still comparatively low due to a number of deficits. The purpose of R & D work is to reduce or eliminate the shortcomings (such as high price, vulnerability of the VIP, short life, etc.) for the expansion of the areas of application as well as a significant increase of already existing market shares.
The bundling of the competencies of the network partners in the areas of research and development, production and application ensures the development of innovative products and processes for novel insulation materials and their application on the basis of basic and application-oriented research.
The development of new products and solutions represent a unique selling proposition for the network partners and strengthen the competitiveness of the companies in the network.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy supports the establishment of the network "Development and Application of High-Performance Insulating Materials" as part of the funding program for medium-sized enterprises Central Innovation Program Mittelstand-ZIM.
